Legible converts the files each person uploads to read them in their reader. Each library is private: it is not shared, not published, and no one else can search it. We respect copyright and respond to infringement notices under the United States copyright law (Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512) and the laws of each country.

How to make a claim
If you are the rights holder of a work, or act on their behalf, send an email to soporte@allbase.com.ar with:
- Your physical or electronic signature (your full name written at the end is sufficient).
- The work you believe is infringed.
- The material that infringes it and how to locate it. Since libraries are private, there is no public address: just the file name, its SHA-256 hash, or the account that uploaded it is enough.
- Your contact information: name, address, phone, and email.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that this use is not authorized by the rights holder, their representative, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act on their behalf.
If the notice is missing something, we will write to you to request it. Claims from any country are handled in the same way, with the same information.
What we do when a claim arrives
- We remove that book from the person's library, so they can no longer see or download it, and we do not accept that same file again.
- We notify by email which book was removed, for which claim, and how the person can respond.
- We keep the removed book hidden for 30 days in case a counter-notice arrives. After that, it is deleted.
If a book was removed and you believe it was an error
You can send a counter-notice to soporte@allbase.com.ar with:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- The removed book and the claim number shown in the email we sent you.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith that it was removed by mistake or by incorrect identification.
- Your name, address, and phone number, and a statement that you accept the jurisdiction of the federal court of your district of residence (or, if you live outside the United States, of any judicial district where Base UI LLC can be found) and that you will accept notification from the person who made the claim.
The law requires us to send a copy to the claimant, with your information. If within 10 to 14 business days they do not inform us that they have filed a lawsuit, the book returns to your library. A claim you have responded to this way does not count toward account closure.
Accounts with repeated claims
We close the account that accumulates 3 valid claims without response. We notify you by email for each one, so you never find out all at once.
Copy protection
We do not convert files with passwords or copy protection, nor do we help remove them. If the file is yours, save it again without those restrictions and upload it once more.
False claims
Anyone who knowingly sends a false claim or counter-notice may be liable for any damages caused (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).
